Pink and Pearls Mirror Makeover

Pin It Now!

This mirror is my latest project. I think it's perfect for a little girl's room.

I found it at a thrift store for $2 and I snapped it up. It's just one of those  typical gold plastic mirrors that I've seen many times in the past, and I just walked on by. Not this time. I knew exactly what I was going to do with it the second I bought it. OK... not the second, but pretty close to it. Here's what it looked like when I brought it home.

I cleaned it up and covered the mirror with paper, with the help of some painter's tape, to protect it while I spray painted it.

Here it is with a coat of Tremclad spray primer.

Here it is with 2 coats of Krylon Watermelon spray paint. I love this colour. It's s-o-o-o delicious! When I finished spray painting I really liked it, but I thought it was missing that extra somethin', somethin'.

I dug into my Christmas decorations and found some faux pearl garland and glued that to the inside of the mirror with my glue gun. I used my glue gun because I wanted it to be easily removable in the future.

Here are some close ups.

So you don't have to scroll up, here's the before again.

And here's the after.

I think this mirror is a perfect example of girlification! Is that even a word? No?Well it should be!  LOL. This mirror has been seriously girlified!  What do you think? Are you a fan of pink?
